In rheumatology, we treat both inflammatory and non-inflammatory conditions of the musculoskeletal system – from joints, bones, and muscles to connective tissue and tendons.

Including: Rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, spondyloarthropathies (e.g. ankylosing spondylitis, reactive arthritis), connective tissue diseases (e.g. SLE, scleroderma, Sjögren’s syndrome, mixed connective tissue disease), polymyalgia rheumatica, vasculitides (e.g. large- and small-vessel vasculitis), metabolic arthropathies (gout, pseudogout), Lyme disease, fibromyalgia/soft tissue rheumatism, and degenerative spinal and joint diseases.
A detailed medical history is taken using an individualized questionnaire. Key symptoms include: joint pain with or without swelling, muscle pain, tendon insertion pain, fever syndromes, Raynaud’s phenomenon, elevated inflammatory markers, skin changes, as well as back and whole-body pain.
Comprehensive physical examination with status assessment, abdominal ultrasound, joint ultrasound diagnostics with color Doppler/power Doppler analysis, diagnostic joint punctures with synovial fluid analysis, laboratory testing, advanced X-ray and modern cross-sectional imaging (CT and MRI), as well as bone density measurement.
