Pulmonology – a subspecialty of internal medicine – focuses on the prevention, diagnosis, and non-surgical treatment of diseases of the lungs, bronchi, and pleura. The goal is to preserve or improve lung function and enhance quality of life.

Our pulmonology team treats both acute and chronic respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, pneumonia, pulmonary fibrosis, or lung cancer. Diagnostics include medical history, physical examination, imaging (X-ray, CT), lung function tests, and bronchoscopy when required.

Therapy is tailored to the individual based on diagnosis and severity – ranging from medication to non-pharmacological approaches. A particular focus lies on prevention: reducing risk factors such as smoking, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and protecting against harmful environmental influences.
