Hiking, enjoy and relax

Hiking is definitely no longer a minority interest. It is enjoying a remarkable revival. As good fortune would have it, Mount Pizol, Bad Ragaz’s local mountain, has countless hiking trails, including what is arguably the most beautiful panoramic route in Switzerland. Allow your gaze to wander over the Alps of Eastern Switzerland, Grisons and Austria, study the Pizol Glacier on the summit of Mount Pizol (2844 metres above sea level) and the Graue Hörner group. Investigate the extensive mountain flora and fauna on well-surfaced mountain paths. See your reflection in crystal-clear mountain lakes and come across marmots, eagles, ibexes and the mysterious stone cairns. Explore the wild gorges of the Tamina Valley, hike historic paths and discover the legendary source of our beneficial thermal spa water. In whatever direction you set off, the pre-alpine region around Bad Ragaz offers countless hiking routes, Nordic walking trails and bike tours. With different degrees of difficulty and realistic time data your decision is made all the easier.

By bike

The idyllic countryside around Bad Ragaz offers many kilometres of mountain bike and cycle routes throughout the Heidiland holiday region.. A trip through the beautiful vineyards of the Bündner Herrschaft taking in Landquart, Malans, Jenins, Maienfeld and Fläsch, then back to Bad Ragaz will live on in your mind for long to come. The different, off-the-beaten-track routes are perfect not only for cycling, but also for a ride on horseback.

Nordic Walking & Jogging

Do you take regular exercise? Working out will lift your spirits and clear your head. Sport is good not only for the body but also for the mind. It’s a difficult choice: jogging, walking and Nordic walking are fun to do and an effective training for your shape.

Discover the gentle natural trail from the Tamina down to the Rhine or venture into higher altitudes on the 3.1-kilometre-long panoramic Nordic walking trail on Mount Pizol. Guests seeking a sporting challenge should tackle the 50-kilometre inline-skating tour, which will also appeal to fit walkers and joggers. It takes you alongside the Rhine towards Sargans, on to Vaduz and finally to Lake Constance!

Tennis & Badminton

Whether you wish to improve your game, perfect your backhand or simply enjoy yourself – tennis and badminton will keep you going. Both experts and beginners will get their money’s worth in Bad Ragaz. Improve your skill with some professional tennis lessons or train on your own with the ball machine. Outdoors in summer, in the sports hall in the event of bad weather.
