Bad Ragaz stands for a centuries-old spa tradition, glorious nature, pure mountain air, relaxation and a wealth of opportunities to engage in sport. Here, the guest will find everything he needs for an active, refreshing holiday. The principal attraction of Bad Ragaz is the Tamina spring whose body-temperature water gushes from the nearby gorge at 36.5 degrees Celsius. To immerse yourself in the agreeably warm and yet stimulating thermal spa water is pure pleasure.

The beauties of nature begin directly outside the hotel, offering the best-possible opportunities to recharge your batteries. Whether in the Giessenpark, an inviting place in which to stroll among its mature trees, the Tamina gorge with its pleasantly cool summer air or the spacious park and water features. A perfect environment in which to stock up on energy and strength. Golfers will be captivated by the wonderful 18-hole PGA Championship Course while beginners will immediately feel at ease on the 9-hole Executive Course. A host of other opportunities such as fishing, riding, inline skating, tennis, mountain biking and cycling will gladden the heart of every sports enthusiast.

A cableway and many footpaths take guests up into the incomparable mountain landscape. The Pizol region, the Tamina and Calfeisen valleys and the whole Falknis region provide inviting opportunities to fill your lungs with the fresh and clean mountain air. There is something to delight every hiker, from the gentle Heidi path from Pardiel to Schwarzbüel up to the 5-hour five-lake hike. You can follow in Heidi’s footsteps on around 200 km of trails. That’s because it was the impressive landscape and the mountains surrounding Bad Ragaz that inspired Johanna Spyri when she was writing the tale of Heidi and Peter the goatherd in 1880.

Numerous cultural treasures such the venerable Bad Pfäfers baths or the St. Leonhard chapel in Bad Ragaz transport visitors to another world while in the Casino Bad Ragaz, a tingling atmosphere prevails every day with American Roulette, Black Jack and Poker, the latest generation of gaming machines and the Multiroulette.

In winter, the 2,227 metre high Pizol offer skiers and snowboarders 40 kilometres of groomed slopes accessible via 13 cable-cars and lifts. A 7 km toboggan run and the panoramic ridge walk complete the facilities.

Holidays in Bad Ragaz and region Heidiland are a treat for all the senses. It is what led Rainer Maria Rilke to write 'To be here is wonderful' during one of his stays in Bad Ragaz and to his becoming a regular guest of the health, holiday and activity resort together with many other well-known personalities .
